Bare Minerals 'Well Rested' Concealer

Hey everyone, I tweeted a few weeks ago saying I was going to purchase this product from Beauty Bay (if you don't follow me on twitter all my links are down bellow).

I have really bad puffy, dark, purple circles under my eyes and I'm am on the hunt for an amazing concealer/corrector to help me cover them up (leave a comment if you have any suggestions). This concealer is an ivory toned eye brightener with yellow undertones. I still use this over the top of a small amount of concealer just for abit of extra coverage and to set my concealer too. The powder is very finely milled but a lot of it does all come out when I dispense into the lid, which makes it easy to pick up a load of product onto your brush but I just tap off the excess back into the lid. It gives such a pretty finish under the eye, with good coverage, a more brighter under-eye area so you look more awake and well rested, as the name suggests. I wouldn't say it hides my circles which is also why I use it along side another concealer, but it definitely helps tone them down tons. 'Well Rested' blends really easily into the skin, I use a big fluffy brush to apply and really blend it in for a flawless finish. A little bit goes a really long way with this produuct but as I mentioned it is easy to pick up loads, if you do use too much first time ,as I did, I just can't explain how I looked, it caked up loads and i just looked very, very high lighted in that area it all stood out. However, if you stick to a minimal amount you can build it lightly and make sure to blend very well, all will be fine.  The pwder is very lightweight and has a soft, feathery texture.
I personally really love this product and I use it every day for a quick wake up fix, and I use it especially more at night time. I would recommend picking this up or putting it on your Christmas list, as it's that time of year.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer

Hey everyone,
Recently I have been trying out the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (travel size 12ml) £12.50. I tried a sample of this before but it juist didn't work for me, but now I think about it, it may have had something to do with some other products I used(?), anyway I thought I would give it another chance as a friend of my uses it and really likes it.

The primer is a clear, transparent gel with a silky consistancy. It smooths out this skin nicely making my foundation glide over my skin and last a good amount of time wth out budging. I have found myself reaching for this if I'm going to work in the bar or going out in the evening as my make-up just doesn't budge so I have no need to take any touch up bits out with me. When I use this over the top of any blemishes I have I feel like the primer just smooths them down, obviously they are still raised, but they don't feel so raised when I am smoothing the primer onto my skin.
Another thing about the photo finish primer is that a little bit does go a long way. I use a pea size amount (as shown in the photo) to cover my entire face and it doesn't feel tacky or sticky on the skin like some primers can. This is 60% water so I find it works amazing with the Mac face and body foundation as they are both water bases products, it does work well with other foundations of course, but for me they just work amazing together on my skin. If you have quite oily or acne prone skin then this primer will be worth a try as it is oil free, the finish is very velvety-smooth to touch and slightly matte looking. Smashbox say that this primer is perfect for4 reducing fine lines and wrinkles, but as I'm only 19 I don't have wrinkles, so I cannot comment on that part. I love how lightweight the photo finish primer is, as it doesn't sit on top of the skin or weigh the skin down either. You can wear this primer alone (to smooth those wrinkles and fine lines) and/or under your foundation of choice. The packaging of this product is just a plain, transparent tube, as I said I have the travel size so its very cute and diddy, plus its easy to carry around if you are or do travel alot.

I would really recommend picking up with primer, which you can get from Boots £25 for the full size, if you're in the UK. It just makes my make-up look lovely, and feels very velvety on the skin, and as I mentioned it completely smooths out the skin leaving my imperfections feeling perfected.

Topshop Lip Crayon in 'Coy'

Hey everyone, a few weeks ago I wrote about Illamasqua's 'Androgen' pigment which I love but it can be a little pricey for some people, so whilst in Brighton Topshop I took a nosey at the make-up stand and picked up their lip crayon in 'Coy'. As you can see in the picture it is an amazing dupe for the Illamasqua pigment, and this only costs £7 too. This lip crayon has great colour pay off and is true to the colour in the bullet. 'Coy' is a beautiful peachy, salmon pink with a matte finish, I find that when I apply it on the lips it goes a little tacky and sticky as it dries and once dry it acts as a stain on the lips, having said that the formula is still very creamy, light and applies smoothly.
Coy is quite a popular shade and I have seen it talked about a lot, I don't think the colour is anything out there, but the formula I can see why people really do like this product. I like that this is in a pencil type packaging as it is easy to use and travel friendly.

Too Faced 'La Creme' Lip Creame 'In The Buff'

Hey everyone, my lips recently have been really dry and horrible recently and I've been coting them in Elizabeth Arden 8hour cream over night, but during the day I needed a moisturising lipstick to maintain my lips hydration. In Boots a couple of weeks back I picked up the Too Faced La Creme Lip Cream £18 in the shade 'In The Buff' which is a brown nude shade, but slightly peachy I would say, which I like because it is perfect for everyday wear. I will start of by saying I disprise the stench of this lipstick it really gets to the back of throat and tastes revolting but after a while the smell does die down, the smell of white lotus flower is really over powering for me.
Having said that, this lipstick does all the things I was looking for. It is a rich moisturisng formula which hydrates my lips for a good 4-5 hours I would say while I am at work I do touch up a tad on my dryer areas for extra hydration. 'In the Buff' lipstick is very creamy and pigmented which I like, of course, it is quite luxurious to wear on the mouth as it smooths some areas and I can feel it hydrating my lips, as when your lips are dry they feel tight, rough and sore, but once I apply this lipstick they just instantly feel released, smooth and more calm. Also the colour of this lipstick lasts just as long as the hydration, which is an added bonus. I was weary of how this shade would look on my skin tone but it actually fits pretty well, it isn't too dark and it isn't too light it just looks surprisingly flattering for me. There are 15 shades to chose from so there is something there for everyone and I really recommend picking one up.

Have you tried this lipstick before?

Bourjois Java Rice Loose Powder

Hey everyone, recently Boujois re-launched their Java Rice Powder to celebrate their 150th bithday. Wowza. This powder was Bourjois' best selling cult product in 1879 and have been reinvented for 2013, and you can pick it up in Boots and Superdrug in the UK for £9.99.

I'll start by saying I love the gorgeous vintage looking packaging it just looks super pretty sitting in my make-up collection, plus I am a sucker for vintage/pin up themes. The lid is a screw top but inside there is a sifter dispencer which means there is less mess when you open the lid and you have a lot more control over how much powder is released. On to the powder, it is a pink, feather light, loose powder which is very soft and smooth to the touch. It has small shimmers through it to help achieve a lumious finish on the skin. I use this product to set my under eye concealer as it is quite light reflective but also my skin looks flawless all over and it sets foundation and concealer really well. Although there is shimmer through-out the product it is not glittery on the skin and it just leaves the skin looking luminous and pretty.
This is such a beautiful product I just can not fault it, ladies you need to go and grab this it smells gorgeous, it looks gorgeous, it feels fluffy and soft and it gives the skin a flawless finish, and it also sets your make-up into place all day and/or night.

Have yo tried this powder yet? and what are your thoughts?

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

Hey guys,
Now quite recently I was in Boots in Brighton and I was browsing and I saw they had a Too Faced stand there which I had never seen before. I had to take a look,of course. I have a four page list of products that I want to pick up, oops, but one of those products was the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer the link is to the Beuaty Bay website as I cannot find it on the Boots site, although I did pick it up in store £25.

This products smells absolutly deliceous, and so it should as it is made with real cocoa powder, it is sweet chocolate but not too intense or over powering. The bronzer is matte which is super, as you can use for bronzing and then build in certain areas for a contour if you wish to. I will agree with those of you who think it looks super dark in the pan, but I can also assure you it isn't as dark as you may think. When I compared this to their 'Milk' Chocolate bronzer that one pretty much matched my skintone, and this just gave a light dusting of bronze over the face. Although it is matte it still leaves the skin with a shine-free sun kissed glow which I love. It is a similar concept to the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer except this this Too Faced one doesn't have an orange-y tone to it.
The packaging is pretty, however, the lid is loose and does rattle and as there is a mirror inside it I am worried it will crack in my make-up bag, but it hasn't happened yet, and speaking of the mirror it is a very good size. With some products you can find that when you swirl your brush/finger in the product you get a lot of excess powder fall over the place but I can safely say, I didn't find that with this product unless used to firmly of course. There are such little faults I can give this product really. It is easy to blend, light, smooth, smells a-m-azing, and I find it compliments my skintone very nicely too. I would recommend for more fairer skintones useing the Mlk chocolate shade.

Have you tried this bronzer? What is your favourite Too Faced product?

Maybelline Colour Show Nail Polish

Not too long ago now Maybelline launched their new gel based formular nail polishes which are avaiable in Boots or Superdrug for £2.99. I believe that there is 41 colours to chose from so there will be something for everyone. The packaging is actually really nice and simple and I like that it round but not to big not too small either. I'm not sure how I feel about these polishes as a whole because I found that some formulas were quite gloopy and some a little too runny and hard to work with, a lot like the BarryM hi-shine nails polishes. All of these polishes have an extremly heavy scent to them it really hits you in the nose, it smells like very stong nail varnish remover.

This first shade is called 'Green With Envy' which is a beautiful mint green shade and lovely for summer, as it reminds me of mint choc chip cornetto's. The formula to this varnish is a tad too gloopy and I found it created a little buildup of product at the tip of the nail so I had to really minimise the amount of polish on the brush, having said that it is still a beautiful shade. Also I would recommend giving this polish a very good shake before usuing this did help just liquidize the product a little more making it easier to work with.

'Orange Attack' is a very vibrant orangey red colour, on the nails it does come off more red than orange but in the bottle and photo it looks like a firey orange. The forula to this polish is quite runny and moves alot over the nails which I don't like at all, I like to relax painting my nails not have to control where its going creating mess all around my nails. This isn't my favourite one of the 4 I have tried but although it is very runny it still dries quickly.

'Electric Yellow' I was surprised how much I liked this nail varnish. Its very bright yellow and a lovely summery, sun colour. This formular is my favourite of the four its not too runny not to gloopy and easy to work with. You do need a couple of coats as it isn't very opaque. I was looking at different yellows at different stands but this was just the brightest one I found.

The last polish is ' Coral Craze' which is such a beautiful coral shade for summer time, my only issue is its far too hard to work with. I found it very gloopy and again a lot of build up at the tip of the nail, although it does loosen up with a shake you do have to keep shaking it up during painting the nails which isn't fun.

Overall I don't have an opinion of the entire range but I would pick up more of these polishes to try. What do you think of these polishes?

L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer

Hey everyone, recently I have been trying out the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer (£9.99 20ml) which you can pick up from Boots and/or Superdrug in the UK. This is an illuminating primer which comes out white and quite a light purpley, pink pearl to it quite like the Mac Strobe Cream (post here). Once on the skin it leaves a healthy dewyness to the skin it's not too glittery or too shimmery so you could still use a highlighter over the top, also it doesn't leave the skin looking oily either. The primer is a very light weight liquid but not runny, and applies easily on the skin with out a sticky texture. I really like this primer because it just smooths out the skin and my make-up applies smoothly onto the skin and it stays put for a very long time, so I can wear it to work during the night and my make-up doesn't move. As I mentioned before the liquid is white but you don't get white cast over the face it just blends into the skin leaving only a lovely highlight.
The pakcaging of the product is quite simple and fits well into any make-up bag, and the pump dispenses just enough product for my entire face, which I like because I always waste product pumping out too much. I apply this product all over the face apart from eye lids, of course.

I really recommend buying this product if you can't afford things like the Mac strobe cream this is a good alternative, and also really good for dull/dry skin as it brightens the face.

Guerlain Meteorites Voyge

Today I would like to talk to you about probably the most beautiful piece of mak-up that I own and it is the Guerlain Meteorites Voyage, before I start you are probably wondering why it is in pan form, so I will kick start this post with price I paid for this. Now, on FeelUnique this product (in the case) costs a wopping £104.50 I don;t know about you but no matter how good of a product I would never pay that much for it, mainly because I cant afford it and you only get 8g of product, so when I saw that Shannon (Shaaanxo) got the pan form of this real cheap off Strawberrynet...but when I had a look it was like £35-£45 I wasn't completely sold, so I carried on searching until I came across Escentual and saw they were selling this beauty for £28.80...I baught it without second thought.

On to the product itself. not only do the different colours make this product beautiful to look at but they also have their own little jobs on the face. There are 6 different colours
Mauve- to catch the light and brighten the complextion,
Green- to reduce any redness
Pink - to refresh the look of tired skin
White - to give light to the complextion with out a chalky effect
Champagne -which is quite pearly to give the skin a radiant look
and a Pinky gold - to unify olive complextion and warm up a fairer skintone

You can't see to well in the photograph but when mixed together it creates a light doll pink with very little shimmer. I mainly use this under my eyes as it completely holds my make-up in place all day and I also apply a little on top of the cheeck bones for a light highlight. The finish is basically matte but it still catches the light (from certain shades of the powder) although it comes out a light pink it is translucent on the skin. The product is very smooth to touch and there is no excess powder when I swirl my brush in it.
Overall I just love this this products, its pretty, it does the job, it is matte yet catches the light and it has colour correcting pigments, if your worried about where to keep it as it is in pan form if you buy it, then I just recommend picking up a small Z palette. I really recommend this lovely powder from Guerlain especially if you can get it for the price I did. Also go and check out Shannon's channel she is so gorgeous and tallented.

I have been on a total bargain hunt recently, have you picked up anything for cheap that shoud have been expensive?

Bourjois Bronzing Primer

So about just over a month ago Bourjois released their new Bronzing Primer which you can pick up in Boots or Superdrug for £9.99. Like it says this products is a bronzing primer so you are supposed to use it under your foundation for a natural sunkissed glow, I however, don't use it this way. I like to use this over the top of my foundation with a Real Techniues Expert Face Brush, lightly brushing it over the top of the cheek bones, forehead, chin and a touch on the nose, these are the places that the sun would naturally hit the face and leave you bronzed. I do this during the day and during the night I atually just use it for a light contour under the cheekbones, on the temples and slightly along the jaw line to slim the face and it is a good light base for a powder contour over the top or you can build up the bronzing pimer for a more dramatic contour shade.
This product has has so much comparison the the Chanel bronzer as they are along the same line but the price is a huge difference. The primer has a moose texture and is very smooth and light, it looks very dark and orangey in the tub but once you start to apply to the skin it is just like a moose tint, I would say. Because of the moosey texture the product is really easy to blend in with the make-up and doesnt cake up when you build upon it.

Overall this product is really worth buying especially during summer time, if you don't want to have lots of differfent foundations for your tan this product will just add warmth to your foundation, also it is a good way to get into contouring if you are a beginner as powders can be quite harsh and this product alows you to have a light hand and natural looking sunkist face.

Illamasqua Cream Blush in Seduce

Recently I did a post on the Illamasqua cream pigment here and at the same time I purchased that I purchased their cream blush in 'Seduce'. I love love love this colour it is a gorgeous rose colour and feels slightly watery to the touch. It is easy to use and easy to blend, I like to use with fingers and really work it into the apples of the cheeks.
Like the cream pigment this blush is highley pigmented and a little goes a long way. I feel like this blushing rosey colour works really well with my skintone. Like I said before, the blush feels like water to the touch it is very silky and light, and what I mean by the watery feeling is that the blusher is quite wet not runny but its not tough either so you only need a light touch to pick up any product. The product isn't matte finish but it isn't too shiny on the skin so oily skin's I think you could get away with this and if not just add a little powder over top. Like I mentioned in my other post I really like the packging of this product, it's not too bulky but it is a relitivly good size to put in the make-up bag for on the go.

I just think this colour is so beautiful and it just leaves a gorgeous rosey blush to the cheeks. Do you have a favourite Illamasqua Blush?
